Our introductory workshop is suitable for both beginners and massage professionals who want to learn the art of the Esalen approach. Esalen massage is a unique type of bodywork developed at the Esalen Institute on the coast of Big Sur. It is known for its long integrative strokes, inspired by the waves of the Ocean. This deeply relaxing healing art will affect your mind, body, and spirit; Esalen’s signature long strokes facilitate feelings of wholeness, connection, and healing integration. Throughout this workshop, you will be learning massage methods that address the whole body. Queen of the Spa Suite Queen bed overlooking the crystal spa area, with forest view and fireplace-style heater. Forest Yurt Furnished with queen beds, dressers, and/or desk, lights, electrical outlets, heaters, and fans. Glamping Belle Tent Queen Bed in Belle Tent, No electricity. Bunkhouse Twin-sized bunk bed. Each person gets one double bunk per person. Must be comfortable walking up a hill in rugged terrain. No electricity. Lantern provided.
