Seeking experience Grounds keeping / Landscaping personnel to Start Work ASAP ! Description: Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and much more. This position is physically demanding. In daily operations, Crew Member must: Have full range of mobility Be able to sit, stand, walk, bend over, kneel, stoop, etc. for extended periods of time Be able to reach over head, climb or balance Be able to lift, push, or pull equipment and materials Be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Have clear vision with the ability to focus and to see peripheral, depths, distances, and colors Drive/travel to jobs throughout the day in Baton Rouge and surrounding cities This position is outdoor-based with daily travel in Company owned Trucks Crew Member may be exposed to: Driving, loading/unloading, and working in adverse weather conditions Fumes and chemicals High noise levels Experience Requirements: Must be 18+ years old Bi-lingual is not required but preferred Valid driver’s license Good driving record Reliable transportation Responsibilities: Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Mow and edge lawns, using power mowers and edgers. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Gather and remove litter. Haul or spread topsoil and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds. Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Install rock gardens, fences, planters Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Ability to read & write English, including maps & diagrams Qualifications: Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels Highly motivated quick learner Drug free work environment, a random drug test policy is in force Ability to lift 60+ lbs consistently throughout the day. High attention to detail…the customer doesn’t see what we do, they see what we don’t do that they paid for. High ability to deal with ambiguity in a high stress environment while keeping your composure on and off the job. Available to work a varied schedule (including Saturdays) in all adverse weather conditions. Stoop, stand and bend for 10+ hours a day.
