Welcome!The 48th annual gathering of the California Caucus of College and University Ombuds (Cal Caucus) is a unique occasion to meaningfully connect with and learn from fellow ombuds. Located at the historic Asilomar conference grounds near Monterey, this conference offers the opportunity to forge new professional relationships, deepen established ones, and develop your ombuds practice. This year's theme, Towards Restoration: What We've Gained, and What We've Lost, will shape the presentations and discussions around the incredible impact the pandemic has had on all of us. It has brought challenge, suffering and hardship as well as creativity, growth, and positive change both at home and at work. Cal Caucus is an opportunity to reflect on this unparalleled time as well as equip ourselves to meet the new challenges and opportunities we will inevitably face as we transition into a new post-pandemic reality. Throughout the conference, presenters will cover topics critical to the success of ombuds in higher education and other fields during this unique time. Attendees will also have numerous opportunities to learn from each other through interactive case studies and small group discussions. COVID-19 Notice: The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create uncertainty around our ability to gather in-person and will likely impact the way we can engage on-site. We value this community and will do all we can to ensure their safety and well-being and we will ask the same of our participants. We are closely monitoring federal and state guidance and there may be health and safety requirements to attend the Caucus. We will notify all participants of safety expectations and precautions closer to the event. COVID-related registration cancellations will be addressed on a case by case basis. A limited number of early bird tickets will be available until sold out and then regular rate tickets will be available beginning July 12 until October 10 or until conference capacity has been reached.
