VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police are investigating a shooting Thursday morning. In the early morning hours, Vienna officers responded to the 100 block of Patrick Street SE. Officers found a male victim inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe there is a further threat to public safety at this time. Details of the shooting are preliminary and subject to change based on the investigation. Vienna detectives are interviewing witnesses who were on scene, and the Fairfax County Police Crime Scene Section is processing the scene and providing assistance.
