PARAMUS, NJ — A Paramus gas station attendant was stabbed in the chest after an argument with a customer around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Kevin Reid, 38, of Far Rockaway, New York, is charged with aggravated assault and weapons possession after police say a "verbal argument over the use of Reid's Speedway pass" led to a fight, in which Reid stabbed an employee in the chest.
Police found the victim, Sevaughn Hutchison, 23, of East Orange, at 1:23 p.m. in the parking lot at the Speedway gas station on Route 17. Hutchison was "bleeding from a stab wound to his chest," and officers and EMS "immediately began medical treatment."
He was eventually transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
Reid was arrested, but initially taken to New Bridge Medical Center "for a medical condition," police said. He was remanded to Bergen County Jail, pending a bail hearing.
