06/09/2021
On May 29, 2021, officers were dispatched to a residential burglary call on W. Paces Ferry Road in Northwest Atlanta. The victims advised a male came to their door, stating he was there to look at some trees near the victim's property line and wanted to show the victims. While the victims were outside with one suspect, the second suspect entered the home and removed over $100,000 worth of jewelry from inside. The suspects were seen driving a newer model Chevrolet Suburban.

This ploy is not new and investigators are looking into whether there are any other cases in Atlanta involving this crew. We are warning everyone to be aware of these types of scams. The suspects typically state they are at the location doing work on a neighbor's home and lure the victim outside to show them where they will be working. While the victim is outside speaking with one suspect, a second suspect enters the home and removes valuables from inside.
UPDATE: Both suspects have been arrested. 27-year-old Justin Luigi Frank was apprehended in New Orleans on outstanding warrants out of Florida. 23-year-old Jacob Mitchell was apprehended in Houston, Texas on outstanding warrants out of Florida. Our investigation remains open and we are working with other jurisdictions. We anticipate securing warrants on the two for the incident in our jurisdiction.
