Description

I have a 2001- Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ltd. with (believe it or not) 208,000 miles) Recently a fan belt broke and the cause was the belt tension wheel. That entire part has now been replaced. When the belt broke the Jeep overheated. Now, when ever I drive just a few blocks, it over heats. My guess is that when it overheated (when the belt broke) the solution (aluminum liquid patch that I added to the radiator several weeks ago that seemed to patch the heater-core) must have clogged either the radiator or the thermostat or some line in the water cooling system. Once the problem is identified (I. g. thermostat, water pump, thermostat or the heater-core, the cooling system will most likely need a complete flush, right? I’m looking for a mobile machinic who can bypass the heater-core as (I have described above so we can see if the cooling problem is in the heater-core or a clog in the main cooling system, like the Thermostat or Radiator). What is your schedule like and when can you help? The Bottom Line: I guess the question is how much you are going to charge this retiree living on a limited social security income (If I buy any parts needed)? 1. Charge for bypassing (looping) heater-core? 2. Charge for replacing the thermostat (if needed)? 3. Charge for replacing the heater-core (if needed)? Thanks, Rob
