Essential job functions and major responsibilities: Other tasks may be assigned. Successfully performs all assigned tasks as an individual and/or as member of assigned crew. Able to perform work with minimal supervision. All candidates must: o Fully comply with shipyard and craft safety and environmental measures at all times o Be able to provide a detailed, up-to-date resume o Be able to pass any tests as required for the position o Candidate required to have or obtain OSHA Marine certification (OSHA 10) o Must be able to obtain DBIDS and all necessary badges for shipyard o Must be able to pass all applicable physical and drug screening requirements o Candidate must be able to stand for long periods, able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces o Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs. General Laborer Job duties and requirements: o Will be performing general labor work to support marine/shipyard operations o Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including, but not limited to, transportation, cleaning, lifting, moving, preparing, loading, and unloading materials o Performs simple maintenance and/or repairs on tools, machinery or buildings as assigned o Power tool usage as required o Performs other activities in a helping or assisting mode as assigned o Previous experience preferred, but not required o Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. Firewatch o Job duties and requirements: o Will be performing general labor/fire watch work to support marine/shipyard operations o Assisting welders and structural tradesmen o Ensuring safety of employees and equipment during and around all hot work procedures o Power tool usage as required o May be required to perform a variety of general manual labor tasks including, but not limited to, transportation, cleaning, lifting, moving, preparing, loading, and unloading materials o Performs other activities in a helping or assisting mode as assigned o Previous experience preferred, but not required o Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
