Hours are Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm U-Haul offers its Facility Maintenance Mechanics: • Career stability • Opportunities for advancement • Life insurance • MetLaw Legal program • MetLife auto and home insurance • Discounts on Apple products, Dell computers, cell phone plans, hotels, and more • 401k and stock options • 24-hour physician available for kids • Dental & Vision Plans • Business and travel insurance • YouMatter EAP • LifeLock Identity Theft Protection • Critical Illness/Group Accident Insurance • Hourly pay ranging from $16.76-$29.91 commensurate with experience Facility Maintenance Mechanic Primary Responsibilities: • Daily attendance critical to plant success • Able to pass drug screen and background check • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry duties • Control tool inventory • Change oil in cars, forklifts, and hydraulics • Order supplies • Manage budget • Performs preventive maintenance, repairs and installation of production equipment including diagnostics of mechanical and electrical systems (PLCs) and performs necessary repairs. Keeps machinery in optimal condition. • Troubleshoots equipment failures by observing equipment in operation, listening for problems as well as using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tooling and equipment; this includes the use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. • Makes necessary adjustments to production equipment during production; ensures high production and product quality levels. Assists production supervisors in the event of equipment malfunctions, electrical or mechanical. • Performs daily and shift work assignments in a timely and efficient manner to minimize breakdowns or disruptions, documents activities through daily shift reports. Communicates potential problems and safety issues to immediate supervisor. • Maintains a safe and clean work environment; ensures parts and tools are in good operating order and properly stored and performs general housekeeping of all maintenance areas. • Ensure proper procedures for Lock Out/Tag out are followed. Maintenance Mechanic Minimum Qualifications: • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic tools • Computer expertise • Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean record Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
