Description

These are my 87 year old great grandmothers dogs. A bit about Balto: He is a pure bred Australian cattle dog. Bought as a puppy back in 2013 (so I estimate he’s 8 now) and has been taken poor care of since then. She has finally moved into assisted living, so of course the dog can’t stay with her. He seems to be somewhat blind due to obesity, but has only ever seen a vet for his rabies shot and nothing else. I am not sure if he is up to date, I know he received a 3 year rabies vaccine a couple of year ago but it may be expiring or recently expired. She fed him whatever she wanted constantly and did not exercise him, so he is definitely overweight. He has a bit of aggression issues, but I believe it’s due to blindness and not knowing what’s going on. He needs a home with someone that has patience to work with him, to put him on a diet and exercise him, and someone that can provide him love and a good home. A bit about Daisy (Black Lab/Mix): She got her as a puppy back in 2014 (so I estimate she’s about 7 now) and has taken poor care of her since then. She has finally moved into assisted living, so of course the dog can’t stay with her. She is an incredibly sweet dog, but is so overweight and poorly trained. I am not sure if she is up to date on shots, I know she received a 3 year rabies vaccine a couple of year ago but it may be expiring or recently expired. She has been fed a mixture of rice and dog food for years, so she has gained a lot of weight recently. But she is an active dog, so she needs someone with patience and a yard to get her well trained and in a healthy weight range again! She is microchipped but it is not registered, and she seems to have been injured by a car some years ago and has problems if you touch her leg roughly, but it is unknown. If this sounds like you’d be a good fit for a home for them, please text or call me. I’d hate to have to take either of them to a shelter.
