On Site Janitor/ Day Porter

We are a family owned apartment complex looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Janitor/Day Porter personnel to join our company. We are looking for someone to work part time 32 hours or possibly full time depending on your skill set. We need someone to live on site. There would be a discount on rent for living on site. Your total rent for a 1 bedroom apartment would be $725 a month. Plus your hourly rate of $14 an hour. This breaks down to around $17.25 an hour. Part of living on site requires being on call. This is mainly for occasional lock outs which take 5-10 minutes. When you are called after hours for a short time, you will be paid for 1 hour of overtime. As the Janitor and/or Day porter, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Responsibilities include- Responsibilities: • Keep buildings in a clean and orderly condition • Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming • Clean and maintain windows and mirrors • Clean, sanitize, and supply laundry rooms and bathrooms • Remove waste and empty all trash cans • Organize custodial closets and spaces • Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment • Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies • Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance • Ensure grounds areas are clean and orderly • Clean and dust furniture, ledges, light fixtures, and other hard to reach places Qualifications: • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies • Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally • Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations • Attention to detail • Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments • Ability to follow directions from a supervisor • Must be able to manage time efficiently • Ability to handle physical workload • Strong attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Ability to lift/push up to 50 pounds Work Environment • Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing janitorial tasks • Ability to work with loud noises • Ability to work individually as well as within a team Education• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
