Alto saxophonist and trumpet for ska/reggae band

Well established 9 piece ska-Jazz band seeking alto saxophonist to complete our horn section. We are also currently auditioning trumpet players! We rehearse on average two or three times a month on sundays. Average 1-3 gigs per month during normal times (mostly weekend gigs). Some minor traveling also happens (the gorge/Seattle/Vancouver BC/etc) We’ve been playing for 9 years with very little turnover in the band, but we now need another sax player-preferably alto as many of our tunes have been arranged for that specific horn. You should be a solid improviser with a unique voice and a cool attitude. Able to read charts is a big plus, but not necessarily essential. We play mostly original compositions. Backgrounds in jazz are the best. If this sounds like you, we’d love to invite you to a low pressure rehearsal audition. Age, sex, etc does not matter at all.
