Jobs
Conroe TX
Description
I am looking for a skilled bodyman / painter to add to my team, full time or part time. You must possess quality auto body repair and painting skills, and hopefully some skill in panel replacement & welding. For over twenty years I have specialized in vintage cars, restoring and servicing vehicles from 1900 to 1985, building race cars for land speed racing and resto-mods. These are the types of vehicles you will be required to work on. You need to be able to work somewhat independently, following a checklist to complete assignments in the priority order that is set. All work must be performed to my standard which will be explained, and once complete, inspected for approval. You will sometimes be required to move between my three locations in Conroe, Houston and Hempstead, but the primary workplace for this position is Conroe. You will be responsible for keeping your shop area clean during and after you have performed your work. The schedule is goal oriented and based on completion of tasks, but I build the schedule around a 9am-6pm and Mon-Fri timeframe. I can be flexible with advanced notice so long as the production is not delayed. I prefer not to work weekends if possible. I expect you to be on time. You must have attention to detail and be able to work neat and clean. I would expect you to have your own proper tools and equipment if you are a high quality individual. I will provide a list of what would most likely be needed to start. Equipment can be provided if you are not to that level yet. Things that you should know at a minimum are: - how to follow directions and methodology - proper body work procedures - proper dual stage painting procedures - how to research what you do not know - how to MIG weld steel plate, tube and pipe Skills of special interest but not required: - cage building - panel fabrication - high quality tig welding in steel, aluminum, stainless - parts manufacturing from prints - fiberglass experience - trim restoration This job requires you to be on time, keep accurate records, make regular reports, and make requested repairs in a timely fashion. This job deals with expensive classic and vintage vehicles and is not for people who may be accident prone or clumsy. I am looking for someone full time but will consider a good candidate that wants part time only. If you possess a good variety of skills and ability to apply them, as well as some leadership ability, there is room for growth to manage others in the future. Pay is dependent on ability and equipment. Everyone will be required to work a 2 week trial period at a negotiated rate prior to an offer to hire. To apply you MUST email a resume' with full contact information, availability, references and experience. Photos of previous work is the best way to show your skills. I am interested in hearing about certificates, degrees or any special paperwork, but I do not hire based on what you can hang on the wall. I am interested in people I can enjoy being around and working with who are honest, dependable and look to continuously improve themselves, possess real knowledge of craft, great attention to detail and follow through as well as a good work ethic. DO NOT apply if you do not already accept the pay range and above conditions. Submissions without a resume will be ignored.
