Looking to hire a reliable, able-bodied GROUNDSKEEPER/ HANDYMAN to assist our Head Groundskeeper and General Manager at Talley Ho Inn. The diverse job tasks include: Groundskeeping, landscaping, and hardscaping Room/building repair assistance: troubleshooting, plumbing and electrical, finish work Equipment repair assistance: small and large landscaping machines This is a multi-faceted job, utilizing a number of various skills over a wide range of disciplines. Knowledge of related skills (landscaping, construction, machine repair) are helpful but not required. Any age or gender may apply, provided applicant can meet the physical demands. This job is 24-32 hours per week, generally 8am to 4pm, 3-4 days a week. Pay rate is $12 per hour to start, with advancement commensurate with job performance. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and comfortable hospitality. Located one mile from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Talley Ho Inn is the oldest continually operated hotel in Townsend. Victor Talley and his wife Helen began renting the original eight units in 1953, while Victor worked at Aluminum Company of America in nearby Alcoa. Today the 48-room inn is operated by the third generation of the Talley family, offering rooms with private balconies and fireplaces, a conference room, and spacious grounds well-suited for automobile shows.
