The Village of Mamaroneck is seeking to fill an opening in the position of Auto Mechanic in the Department of Public Works - Garage, under the supervision of the supervisory employees in the Department of Public Works Department.
Auto Mechanic: Duties include performing maintenance, repair, disassembly and reassembly of village automobiles, trucks and machinery, including diesel engines and other heavy machinery and vehicles, as well as other related duties. Employees in the wintertime will be called to report for emergency snow duty to repair snowplows, vehicles and trucks that break during snow operations. The job is subject to Civil Service requirements and Village of Mamaroneck local requirements, including graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, three years of experience where the primary function of the position was maintenance and repair work on automotive and/or heavy motor equipment, and possession of a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License.
