I'm kind of a big deal! Slim Jim started out as a scared, stray kitten in the woods near PAWS. After almost a year of kind words, familiar faces & warm chicken, he checked himself into PAWS. Literally walked in the catroom on his own! He loves his people but can be a little cautious of new people & unfamiliar noises but give him a little time and his PURRsonality shines! He lives with other cats and is a total gentleman. He's been pretty low maintenance at the shelter, not demanding attention but appreciates a good chin scratch when he gets it. This guy trusted us enough to ask us to find him a home & we won't stop until we find it!
For more information on our adoptions or to see Slim Jim's webpage, visit http://www.PawsOfHertfordCounty.org. Our process: If you are interested in Slim Jim or any of our adorable adoptables, please fill out an adoption application here: https://www.pawsofhertfordcounty.org/forms/. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization.
All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
