Join Nextep Inc.’s Tracey Hixon and Lindsey Nichols for our June TRUST Talks™ series as they discuss best practices, misconceptions and key elements of a great place to work. In this series, you will learn how to utilize free resources to showcase your business successes and better understand the influence and pros and cons of creating and harboring a great workplace culture where employees are encouraged to thrive. This event will be hosted at BBB offices in downtown Oklahoma City, there is a private parking lot behind the building and lunch will be provided. As the Corporate HR Director, her focus areas are drivers for high employee engagement. Nextep is locally and nationally recognized as a Great Place to Work and listed in this year’s Top 50 Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services™ (US small-medium businesses). She shares the experience and insights of a successful people-centric organization to help other companies win with their people. One of those endeavors is serving as a council member and speaker for the OK Certified Family Positive Workplace program. She discovered her love of HR through her degree at UCO, became fascinated by people through her DISC behavioral assessment certification and says that her PHR designation (Professional in Human Resources) is like raising teenage boys. She’s smarter for it, but wouldn’t want to do it again. Lindsey Nichols, Vice President of Human Resources Lindsey Nichols, SHRM-SCP, SPHR is the Vice President of Human Resources at Nextep, a Professional Employer Organization based in Norman, OK. Nextep provides professional services for businesses of all sizes including human resources consultation, payroll administration, benefits administration, and risk management. In her role at Nextep, she oversees all aspects of the Human Resources and Recruiting teams. She has been with Nextep since 2005. Lindsey graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. She earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in May 2010 and has been a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) since November 2014. Lindsey is also a certified DISC/PPA Analyst through Thomas International. Lindsey makes frequent presentations to Nextep clients, employees, and local SHRM-affiliated chapters on a variety of HR and workplace topics. Lindsey has a history of volunteer leadership in the HR community. She served as the Oklahoma Human Resources State Council (OKHR) Director from 2015-2016 and served on the OKHR State Council for a total of 10 years in various roles. Additionally, she also served on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma City Human Resource Society (OCHRS) for six years as the Vice President of College Relations.
