Join Master Preserver Pam Lillis in Tim's Kitchen as we Learn To Preserve the Beautiful Berries of Summer! This class teaches the Hot Water Bath method of Canning. We'll cover everything you'll need to know about simple canning equipment & food safety, then it's hands-on in the kitchen as we make 2 recipes to take home in mason jars:
-Small-batch Strawberry Jam with Meyer Lemon
-Strawberry Mint 'Shrub' - which is a refreshingly fresh drink base for cocktails & mocktails
Takeaway 1 jam & 1 Fruit Shrub and the confidence to DIY! Canning is a lifelong skill! Once you know how to "preserve" safely, you will take this time-honored tradition with you throughout the seasons, as you "put up" all manner of fruits and vegetables from your garden and/or local farmers' markets.
