The Art of Being, the process of connecting you to your true creative self The Art of Being is an experience created by Angela Craven, an abstract expressionist painter and independent UX researcher and instructor, and Kïrsten Blake, a narrative coach and facilitator, as a space where people can slow things down, reflect, and foster their creativity. Through hands-on activities, including creating your own piece of artwork made from natural materials which we’ll collect on a mindfulness walk, we guide you through the process of connecting you to your true creative self. We are all creative beings. Your creativity lies within, but quite often our schools, workplaces, and daily lives lack the space and time for us to tap into and explore that deeper part within us. Any number of outside forces can pull you away from your innate creativity, which may contribute to you feeling disconnected from your own BEing and inner wisdom. Carving out intentional time for creativity is what allows you to reconnect. During the workshop, you will be given the opportunity to: Connect to your own personal values and “why.” Play and feel the joy of your inner child. Learn tangible techniques you can use on your own.Practice being present in the immediate moment, which fosters creativity. Find empowerment in creating through art and writing. Receive a unique method for self care.Make connections to others and learn from their stories and creativity. Ladies, Wine & Design was started by Jessica Walsh as an initiative to foster female creativity. Only a tiny percent of creative directors are women, and LW&D wants to help change this through monthly creative meet-ups, mentorship circles, and portfolio reviews. We'll wine, snack, and have casual conversations on a wide variety of topics relating to creativity, business, and life.
