Originally from Texas, Parnell captures the intensity of delta blues, Texas swing, country gospel, and more in his nine albums and more than 20 singles that charted the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks, with four in the top 10. He is not only known for his hits “On the Road,” “Love Without Mercy,” “Heart’s Desire,” “I’m Holding My Own,” “Tender Moment,” and “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am,” but he is also a Texas Heritage Songwriters Association Hall of Fame member. Parnell has toured and collaborated with many legends including The Allman Brothers Band, Delbert McClinton, Merle Haggard, and Bonnie Raitt. MEET THE INSTRUCTOR – SHAWN DEALEYAfter finding a passion for music production in high school, Shawn opened his first studio at age 20 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he played drums, produced, and engineered his way to touring with big-name artists such as Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, Avril Lavigne, and Billy Talent. He now works as a producer, engineer, and mixer for Sweetwater Studios and The Clyde Theatre.
