Description

This one-day course is for clinicians interested in advanced application of non-invasive electrical stimulation to maximize outcomes. Gerti Motavalli, PT, MPT has both clinical experience and advanced knowledge of the use of e-stim in the pediatric population. She has been a leader in developing and applying protocols for use in the Spina Bifida population and has begun to share her knowledge with clinicians around the world. We are so excited to welcome Gerti to Everyday Kids in Burlington, NC. At this course, Gerti, along with and Dr. Gad Alon, PT, PhD (who will join us virtually) will instruct on the safe and effective use of e-stim with pediatric populations. Physical therapists and clinical researchers from around the world have published peer-reviewed publications how to incorporate non-invasive electrical stimulation to augment recovery in pediatric practice. This one-day course is designed for clinicians interested in the most advanced application of non-invasive electrical stimulation to maximize clinical outcomes. A major portion of the course will focus on non-invasive “spinal cord” stimulation for patients with spinal cord impairments like Spina Bifida. A special portion will be devoted to implementing the most effective treatment plans for improving gait and trunk control. There will be “Hands-On" practice sessions, treatment demonstrations, a demo treatment and videos of actual clinical cases. **The Chattanooga Continuum or EMPI Continuum with the hand switch will be used for this course. Please let us know if you plan to bring your own unit. Gerti will bring several units and there will be the option to add the Chattanooga Continuum set to your order for a reduced price of $300; you will receive the set at the course if you choose to purchase. Orders required before July 20th. Everyday Kids Community Center is a public play/gathering space for families with children of all abilities.
