Eyeseeme African American Children's Bookstore is Celebrating it's 6th Year Anniversary & You Are Invited
When we opened Eyeseeme African American Children's Bookstore in 2015 the concept of a brick and mortar, black owned, independent bookstore, which featured multicultural children’s books, was unheard-of, especially in the age of Amazon. But our mission to make sure that ALL children can see themselves in the literature that they read, was too important to ignore.
It has now been six (6) years and we have grown year over year and have been able to reach and enhance the lives of more and more children. We even made it through COVID due to community support.
Join Us as we celebrate and say THANK YOU!

EyeSeeMe is an exciting new African American Children’s Bookstore in University City, MO. We want ALL children to see themselves in the books that they read.
Our mission is to be a resource to parents, teachers, and schools in providing the very best children’s books on the market that promote positive images and stories about African American culture and history. As a tool to help increase literacy, African American children will benefit by seeing themselves respectfully represented in the literature they read. Non-African American children will benefit by helping to dispel negative and inaccurate stereotypical images of people of color and that despite our many differences, all people share common feelings and aspirations.
