COVID-19 One-Stop Shop Opens For Testing, Vaccinations

PALMETTO, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County and the Florida Division of Emergency Management have teamed up to offer a one-stop shop for COVID-19 testing and vaccination. This new COVID-19 testing and vaccination site is located at the Palmetto Bus Station at 1802 Eighth Ave. W. in Palmetto, according to a news release from Manatee County. The site is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The location was selected after reviewing COVID-19 statistics. The bus station sits in ZIP code 34221, which has some of the lowest COVID-19 testing and vaccination rates and some of the highest numbers of COVID-19-positive cases in the county, the county said. The Moderna brand vaccine will be distributed at the site, the county said. This site is walk-up only. No appointment is necessary.
