CONNECTICUT — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has updated its water quality report for Connecticut's swimming holes, and four are currently not up to code or under maintenance. Gay City State Park in Hebron, Lake Waramaug State Park in Kent and Pachaug State Forestin Voluntown remain closed, pending retesting on Wednesday. Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret is closed for maintenance. The Department of Public Health Lab tests water samples from Connecticut beaches each week for the presence of certain indicator bacteria. Local municipalities' health departments are responsible for checking local beaches. For information on closures of local swimming areas contact the local public health agency.
