Description
POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The Point Pleasant council election is set while there are still some questions about who will be running for the two seats up for election on the Point Pleasant Beach borough council.
There were no candidates for the Democratic primary for the Point Beach council; however, there were 20 write-in votes, and on the Republican side, the only two candidates that ran were Michael Ramos and Rosa Crowley and not the two councilmen whose positions are being contested, Andy Cortes and Bob Santanello.
Santanello switched his affiliation from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party, while Cortes said he was unsure about running back in March.
Over in Point Pleasant Borough, incumbent council members William Borowsky and Council president Antoinette DePaola ran uncontested in the Republican primary. They will face Democratic challengers Wayne Martiak and Derek Reichenbecher in the general election this November.
