Goodfellow Bros. (GBI) is a large heavy-civil construction contractor with operations throughout the West Coast & Hawaii. GBI has always maintained that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are now seeking to add to our team. We are currently seeking two openings for a Runner, based in our Maple Valley, Washington office! This is a full-time position and is eligible for health and dental benefits. Click here to apply (we do not take walk-ins): The Runner actively supports field and shop operations through pickup and delivery of small tools, traffic control items and construction materials. Also, may assist in maintaining shop operation facilities and offices. Schedule: Shift – approximately 8 hours per day from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with ½ hour lunch break; 5 days/week. May have earlier start time or later end time depending on job needs. Usually 40 hours/week with occasional overtime availability. Occasional weekend availability may be needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Pickup and deliver small tools, traffic control and construction materials to and from job sites. • Follow procedures on inspection of returned equipment and completion of inspection reports. Help track company- owned and rented equipment. • Assist with inventory of small tools, traffic control items and construction materials. Inform management when inventory levels fall below minimum quantities • Abides by all traffic rules and regulations. Drives in a safe and cautious manner. • Regular attendance is required for the position. • Hitches trailer to truck when transporting equipment and supplies. • Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: • Previous experience in construction work and driving a truck or an equivalent preferred. • Ability to lift 60 pounds • Must have sufficient oral skills to communicate effectively with employees, management, and outside vendors. • Valid Washington driver’s license • Clean DMV record is required.
