MADISON, NJ — One incumbent and one newcomer are leading in Tuesday's race for the two spots open in the Madison Borough Council, according to unofficial results. Debra Cohen is leading with 844 votes, followed by Eric Range, with 720. Both are Democrats, and a shoo-in for the November election, as no one filed to run as a republican. Out of the running is democrat Thomas Haralampoudis, who only got 417 votes. A total of 19 people cast write-in ballots for the Republican primary. Here are the unofficial results for the 27th district race (mail-in and provisional ballots are still pending): State Senate (Democrat) Richard J. Codey: 2,647 State Senate (Republican) Adam Kraemer: 3,673 State Assembly (Democrat) John F. McKeon: 2,600Mila M. Jasey: 2,575 State Assembly (Republican) Jonathan Sym: 3,644Kevin Ryan: 3,744 54,609 ballots were cast in Morris County, representing a voter turnout of 13.97 percent. The Morris County clerk must certify the results before they're official. The General Election happens Nov. 2.
