NORTH JERSEY — Polls closed at 8 p.m. for the 33rd District New Jersey Primary Election races to determine which candidates would get the Democratic and Republican nominations to run in November for a state Senate seat and two Assembly seats. The races within each party were uncontested, but political observers often look to the vote tallies as an early indicator of support before November. If the below results are any indication, the Republicans have a long way to go by Nov. 2 if they want to overtake the incumbent Democrats in Hudson County. The 33rd District covers Hoboken, part of Jersey City, Weehawken, and Union City. The unofficial vote tallies, according to the Hudson County Clerk's Office, are: State Senate Candidates Brian Stack (D) (Incumbent): 14,800Agha Kahn (R): 964 Assembly Candidates (For Two Seats) Raj Mukherji (incumbent) (D): 12,811Annette Chaparro (incumbent) (D): 12,891Marcos Marte (R): 964Jacob Curtis (R): 953 For more details on the primary election, visit Vote.NJ.Gov.
