Health Department Fines U.S. Steel For Pollution Violations

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has fined U.S. Steel $201,500 for air pollution control violations and permit violations that occurred during the first quarter of the year. In accordance with the department's agreement reached with U.S. Steel in 2019, 90 percent of the penalties - $181,350 - will be paid to the Community Benefit Trust for impacted communities.
