NEWTOWN, PA — Cherry Blow Dry Bar in Newtown will be closing permanently on Saturday, June 12, the owners announced last week. The hair salon opened in The Village at Newtown Shopping Center in November 2019. Its franchisee owner is blaming the COVID-19 restrictions for the closure. "Our dream has turned into a nightmare," the shop owner posted on Facebook. "The mandated closure and the limited capacity restrictions during the past 15 months has made it impossible to survive. We have made every possible effort with many sleepless nights to keep the salon open, but COVID-19 defeated us." Cherry Blow Dry Bar has 16 locations in the U.S., six of which are in New Jersey.
