Pink Shouts Out Alma Mater Central Bucks For Video Tribute

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks High School West choir got a special shoutout from one of their former singers this week after they produced a video tribute for the pop star. Alecia Moore, known professionally as Pink, is a Doylestown native who attended the high school in the late 1990s and sang for the school choir. She began performing in Philadelphia clubs as a teenager. It wasn't long before recording studio executives saw potential in the singer-songwriter, who earned her first solo recording contract before she turned 18 years old. While the artist has achieved international fame, she still remembers her roots in Bucks County. Pink sent out a tweet Monday night in which she recognized her former choir teacher, Joseph Ohrt, who continues to teach at the high school. She said the video brought her to tears. "Mr. Ohrt was my high school choir teacher. His famous quote to me was 'Alecia, it's NOT a solo", she wrote. "You all sound amazing and I'm totally overwhelmed with love" Mr. Ohrt was my high school choir teacher.
