DUBLIN, CA — Hope Hospice is collecting art for Tri-Valley patients through July 16. The Works of Hope art drive debuted last year as volunteers sought to find ways to serve patients without face-to-face visits. Some 400 pieces of art were gathered last year, most of which were handmade, according to Hope Hospice. Hope Hospice is collecting the following items. Items around four-by-four inches for bedside tables or other small spaces.Ready-to-hang wall art no longer than 21 inches on its longest side.Paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures and other 3D artforms. The organization asks that people consider art featuring scenes such as landscapes or simple representations without religious themes, as patients come from varied backgrounds and many elderly patients who have dementia can struggle to understand abstract art. Volunteers may also offer handwritten letters to go along with the art.
