UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A popular burger joint took a step toward opening a new outpost on the Upper West Side after a new orange paint job recently joined a longstanding "Coming Soon" sign on a vacant neighborhood storefront.
An empty store at 2233 Broadway, in between West 79th and 80th on the west side of the avenue, has been transformed with a Bareburger "Coming Soon" sign and painted with the orange color of the popular chain.

A Bareburger Coming Soon sign first appeared on the storefront in 2019, but the Ikinari Steak sign was just recently replaced with the orange paint coating.
Bareburger did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
The new Upper West Side Bareburger will join two other nearby outposts, one at 795 Columbus Avenue and another at 313 West 57th Street.
Bareburger specializes in burgers, salads, and sandwiches cooked with organic ingredients and a menu that is over one-third vegetarian and plant-based. The chain also has a wide range of vegan and gluten-free options.
"At Bareburger we take a simple, joyful, and organic approach to food," reads an About section on the restaurant's website. "Fresh, vibrant, clean ingredients make for good food, and good food enjoyed in a fun and happy space can make your corner of the world just that much better."
It is not clear when the new Bareburger at 2233 Broadway will open.
