Mentor Lumber is currently seeking an experienced CDL "A" or "B" licensed driver for our Chardon location. The qualified candidate must have prior driving experience. Lumber/building material knowledge is preferred. This position is Heavy Touch, requiring heavy lifting of lumber, cabinets, windows and doors. Forklift is used when applicable. Excellent customer service is a must. Job duties: • Properly inspects and maintains truck and equipment on daily and weekly basis. • Responsible for pre-trip inspection of truck. • Safely and efficiently delivers and unloads materials to job site. • Picks up returns and tallies the materials picked up. • Promptly reports complaints, shortages, damage, accidents or other problems. • Maintains a daily time and mileage log for each delivery. • Maintains familiarity with equipment capacity and proper loading techniques. • Promptly and correctly files and completes all appropriate forms relating to truck repair, accidents, uninsured loss, and workers' compensation. • Maintains knowledge of and practices proper material handling techniques to reduce damage to materials. • Continuously and consistently adheres to all safety regulations. • Assists in resolving service complaints. • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. • Performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment. • Maintains a clean vehicle. • Provides training and orientation to new drivers. • Perform other yard and/or warehouse duties as required.
