My son George is a 48 year old man who has succumbed to an opiate addiction after having had a severe back injury 3 years ago for which the docs treated with WAY TOO many oxycodone opiates for WAY TOO LONG which ended up addicting him. He has slowly become worse. Covid was terrible for him because he had a surgical procedure with a wound that needed dressing changes 2xdaily for 3 months to heal so when he wanted MOST to go to rehab last April 2020, they couldn't take him because of the wound. So he stayed home with me (retired RN) and I did the wound care and dealt with his new onset diabetes with all the food changes and medical care that goes along with that. He was thriving after the first couple months and felt better on the Suboxone so he decided NOT to go to rehab. Then relapsed. Came back home.. back to hospital in February 2021, then went to rehab finally for the first time. Left and relapsed again. He had recently been seen in the Tenderloin with all the drug dealers and homeless, then he was found then willingly allowed family and friends to take him to UCSF Medical Center where he stayed for 3 days but unfortunately his doctor wasn't hearing how ravaging the withdrawal was (didn't provide proper detox meds). He had already agreed to go to rehab with the hospital social worker but due to his extreme physical and psychological pain he left to go seek relief. We assume back down to the TL. We look daily. We now made a missing poster and will be posting them and passing them out in the area of OPEN AIR DRUG DEALING IN THE TENDERLOIN AREA THAT THIS CITY ALLOWS TO CONTINUE UNABATED!!! YES I AM ANGRY! I am George's mother. My heart is shattering. Please if you are in that area look for my son. His PICTURE is attached to this plea for help. Description: Height: 5' 10" Hair: Grey Weight: 140 lbs Last tested covid negative at hospital 1 week ago. Might have minor skin problems, is very friendly and approachable. If located please ask him to call home. If you can assist him with anything I will pay for whatever it costs such as giving him a ride to his home in the Inner Richmond District 10 minutes away from the TL. If he needs 911 please call 911 and help them get him to the hospital. I am terrified I will lose my first born son. His little girl is so confused wanting her daddy. If you see him please email me so I know at least he is still with us. PLEASE HELP ME FIND MY SWEET SON. HIS DAUGHTER MISSES HIM SO MUCH!!
