OBJECTIVE Assists in assigning all employees of their daily duties, providing guidance and assisting in the upkeep of assigned areas. Provide training to others to use various janitorial equipment and supplies and may perform specific assigned janitorial duties while ensuring contract standards are met. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or G.E.D. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required with the ability to travel when required. Must be 18 years or older. OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES Associate’s Degree preferred. Leadership experience preferred. The Lead IV Janitor must conduct self in a professional manner conducive to a product work environment; demonstrate good judgment, responsibility and initiative. The incumbent should possess effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively and to organize work. The incumbent must maintain a professional appearance appropriate for the work setting and must be able to work with people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions.  The incumbent must be able to work some weekends and holidays, work flexible shifts and pass a thorough background check.  See background requirements below. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS {Essential Functions} Janitorial The Lead IV will assist in providing guidance to subordinate work leaders, employees and trainees who work within the department to accomplish contract requirements. The incumbent must be familiar with the Statement of Work (SOW) tasks and ensure all requirements. The Lead IV will remain with work leaders and employee until all tasks are completed, regardless of the assigned shift. Overall Janitorial Support and Quality Focus The Lead IV will perform all necessary janitorial duties assigned during the shift in accordance with the Statement of Work, quality procedures are adhered to, conduct a physical inventory of janitorial supplies on a weekly basis and submit it to the project manager. The incumbent will also be able to effectively work with QAE Inspectors, Building Managers, and customers in all buildings. Relationship Management The Lead IV will maintain open communication at all times with supervisors, work leaders and customers. The Lead IV will also have the ability to effectively communicate with employees. Staff Leadership The Lead IV will train assigned personnel on the use of the various equipment and supplies, ensuring the most trained personnel are appropriately designated to the duties required. Background Check Requirements **Per the Federal regulation - 5352.242-9000: CONTRACTOR ACCESS TO AIR FORCE INSTALLATIONS (NOV 2012): The contractor shall obtain base identification and vehicle passes, if required, for all contractor personnel who make frequent visits to or perform work on the Air Force installation(s) cited in the contract. Contractor personnel are required to wear or prominently display installation identification badges or contractor-furnished, contractor identification badges while visiting or performing work on the installation. The contractor shall submit a written request on company letterhead to the contracting officer listing the following: contract number, location of work site, start and stop dates, and names of employees and subcontractor employees needing access to the base. The letter will also specify the individual(s) authorized to sign for a request for base identification credentials or vehicle passes. The contracting officer will endorse the request and forward it to the issuing base pass and registration office or Security Forces for processing. When reporting to the registration office, the authorized contractor individual(s) should provide a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, valid vehicle insurance certificate, and refer to USAFA A-01 Contractor Access to USAFA Instruction to obtain a vehicle pass. During performance of the contract, the contractor shall be responsible for obtaining required identification for newly assigned personnel and for prompt return of credentials and vehicle passes for any employee who no longer requires access to the work site. Work under this contract does not require entry into controlled areas. Additional Special Clearance requirements are outlined in PWS Section 1.4.2. Upon completion or termination of the contract or expiration of the identification passes, the prime contractor shall ensure that all base identification passes issued to employees and subcontractor employees are returned to the issuing office. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in withholding of final payment. 10 CONS Addendum: Per AFI 91-201 para. 2.12 applicable to all AF contract and lease, contractors and subcontractors are to promptly report pertinent facts regarding mishaps involving reportable damage or injury to the Air Force and to cooperate in any Air Force safety investigation. Cooperation will include toxicology testing (paragraph 2.7.4.). For additional guidance on contracts see AFI 91-202, The US Air Force Mishap Prevention Program specifically paragraphs. 3.5.1, 3.13.3. and 8.10. In addition per USAFA Supplement to AFI 91-201 paragraph 2.12, the contractor will report government property damage or serious injury to contractor personnel to USAFA/SE within one duty day of the mishap or event.
