Field Crew Job Description For the 2021 season, we are hiring Field Crew to help with all aspects of production and distribution on our certified organic vegetable farm located in Sherborn, MA. Dates: Immediate thru October 2021 Hours: Monday through Friday; hours vary during season from 35-40. Part-time hours available in a limited basis Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience, workman’s comp, produce from the farm as available Responsibilities: The Field Crew is involved in all aspects of production and distribution, including greenhouse work; infrastructure and irrigation management; field prep; planting and weeding; insect and disease control; harvesting; washing and packing; and distribution. They are supervised by and works closely with the farm manager and assistant grower. Qualifications: One-year experience working on a farm is preferred but not necessary. Additionally, applicants should have serious interest in sustainable agriculture, locally made products and certified organic standards. The ability to bring enthusiasm, initiative, and good humor to the intense working conditions of the season is essential. Also, applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule, able to lift 50 lbs, and have a valid driver’s license.
