SketchBoston is an up and coming sketching group for anyone interested in drawing the dynamic landscapes of Boston and beyond. Join other designers, artists, sketchers and friends for the next SketchBoston! We'll be inspired by the plants and places, colors and textures of the Gardens at Elm Bank, home of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. Allison Dush, director of programs and education, will give a welcome and introduction to the gardens. Individually packaged light refreshments will be offered. Tickets are free but required, and include a free entry to the Gardens for the day. SketchBoston welcomes anyone interested in drawing the landscape. All skill levels are encouraged to join us! Participation is open to all. Pandemic Protocols: Your health, and our community health, is still of utmost importance. We will have masks and sanitizer on-site to use as desired, we encourage vaccinations and distancing, and we appreciate kindness, patience, and good humor. Thank you! Meet at The Gardens at Elm Bank. We will meet at 11am at the entrance to the gardens.APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE Meet 11:00 am Sketch 11:30-2:30 pm Share 2:30-3:00 pm Additional details, if any, will be posted on instagram and emailed to all ticket holders. Please bring your own sketching materials (sketchbooks, watercolors, pens, pencils, markers, etc). Materials don't need to be fancy, but something is essential. We have black and green pens to share. Things you must bring… -something to draw on -something to draw with Things you may consider bringing… -a sketch pad or sketchbook -colored pencils, Prismacolor or any brand that works for you. Be sure to pack a variety of colors! -pencils -pens, fountain pens, Sharpies or any of your preferred inking utensils -pastels -a traveler’s watercolor set (this could include; small paint tubes; an altoids tin or small palette for mixing colors; water in a resealable jar, napkins or paper towels, masking fluid, etc) -comfortable shoes -water bottle -sunscreen We'll have extra masks and hand sanitizer on site.
