Anna Moss & The Nightshades - Late Show Crazy Horse Saloon 21+ Anna Moss Led by the completely transportive voice of Anna Moss, this band carries intentions far more profound than the simple goal of entertainment. Have you seen Handmade Moments at the Crazy Horse? In fact, have you seen Handmade Moments anywhere? It’s the kind of experience you tell all your friends about and carry with you forever. The duo of Anna Moss and Joel Ludford transmit a completely disarming sense of charisma, musicality and humor which elevates audiences to a state of unfettered bliss and potent unification. On the incredibly powerful occasion of the Day Out of Time on the Mayan Calendar, the pair make their triumphant return to their longtime home of Nevada City with an extraordinary new project – Anna Moss and The Nightshades. Led by the timeless, sultry, completely transportive voice of Moss along with her electric guitar, this quartet carries intentions which far exceed the simple goal of entertainment. The band is a “pandemic baby” by pure definition. Fueled by a dark depression from her passion and livelihood being stripped away, Moss wrote a whole new crop of songs as a form of self-therapy. She labels the sound as “bedroom pop.” Rather than the quirky fun of Handmade Moments, this promises to be something even “juicier” and “reliant on beats.” Moss elaborates: “Pop has a bad rap but I don’t care. Pop music was jazz in the 30s. It was The Beatles. It was Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. It changes over time. We’re talking about a different genre of pop. There are hooks and it’s like folk music except with dreamy sounds and danceable. I want these songs to get stuck in people’s heads.” Joining the duo are a pair of South American musicians they met in New Orleans – Olivya Lee on flute and Fernando Lima on drums. Handmade Moments has toured in Argentina and Brazil so it’s exciting for them to establish a deeper connection than ever to the sounds from that part of the world. The Crazy Horse audience can expect a profound emotional journey which will raise our collective consciousness and reveal how hope can spring forth from the most unlikely of places. Once Moss’s voice hits the airspace, anything beyond that seems to rapidly retreat into the distance. On this Sunday night, the Crazy Horse presents a new format with an early and a late show. Tickets are available separately or you are welcome to purchase for both. The early show begins at 7pm and the late at 10pm. Each show will consist of one 90-minute set. Anna Moss
