Season of the Shadow If you are like me, 2020-2021 brought great challenges in all aspects of ministry. Most poignantly was to my individual spiritual, emotional and physical health. Let’s face it, leading at large can be a daunting task, but leading through great cultural change, Covid crises and more brings with it tensions of the unknown. Local church ministry can be isolating for a leader, and in a season such as this, the isolation has only been compounding. Now more than ever we need places to connect with other leaders. We need avenues and relationships that pull us out from under the isolation. We need to know we are not alone. Being well acquainted with these challenges, I want to invite you to an event for local church leaders, something we are calling the “lift Conference.” The theme for this year is “season of the shadow.” So many of us have felt the weight, wear and anonymity of being in God’s shadow. Yet it is in the shadow that God is so often doing His greatest work in and through us.
