WAUKESHA, WI— Retailer CVS Health announced that it will schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for adolescents aged 12 to 15 at more than 5,600 CVS Pharmacy locations nationwide. According to the retail company, pharmacy locations can administer the vaccine to children starting Thursday. The pharmacy's website says that kids 12 and up are eligible for vaccination in Wisconsin.Vaccinations around Waukesha will be available at: CVS inside of Target at 4798 S. Moorland Rd., New Berlin, WI 53151 CVS Pharmacy, 2401 Kossow Rd in Target CVS 1130 W. Sunset Dr, in The Shoppes At Fox River CVS Pharmacy 1250 W Sunset Dr, in Target Patients are encouraged to schedule appointments online at cvs.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app to ensure availability. Walk-ins are also accepted. Walgreen's also announced it will schedule kids 12 for the vaccine. "Walgreens now offers online guest scheduling. You must complete the process as a guest if you're scheduling an appointment on behalf of someone else. A parent or legal guardian must complete registration for minors under the age of 13 as our sites are not intended for minors under the age of 13. Account creation is subject to age restriction. A parent or guardian must be present at appointments for all minors," according to the Walgreens' website. The announcement came after the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention voted to endorse the usage of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for kids starting at 12 and up on Wednesday. The Food and Drug Administration expanded its emergency use authorization for this age group on Monday. In response to this decision, President Joe Biden tweeted, "It's one more giant step in our fight against the pandemic."
