MANCHESTER, CT — The $1 million bond assigned to a defendant in a Manchester homicide case was upheld at a court arraignment Monday.
A judge also ordered a quick reappearance for 56-year-old Hartford resident Garry Ramsey — June 22. Ramsey failed to post the bond and remained in custody Tuesday.
Ramsey has been charged with murder and carrying a dangerous weapon in connection with a weekend stabbing incident in Manchester.
The stabbing took place at 11:57 Saturday morning at 21 Carver Lane, according to a police report. Officers arrived at the scene after a 911 call and discovered 68-year-old Robert Callahan of Manchester at the property with a stab wound in his chest, according to an incident report. Callahan was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries, according to a police report.
Meanwhile, the suspect, eventually identified as Ramsey, was reported to have fled in a vehicle.
Ramsey surrendered on a warrant Monday morning and appeared in court later in the day.
