Homicide Victim Identified In Hamden Shooting: Police

HAMDEN, CT — Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting early Sunday morning as Jonquay Morrison, 38, of Hamden. The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. on Hamden Park Drive while police were investigating another shooting that happened earlier in the parking lot of 940 Dixwell Avenue, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Officers heard multiple gunshots coming from the area of Hamden Park Drive and found Morrison lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Smith. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting as a homicide.
