SAN DIEGO, CA — Three Golden State cities ranked among the best places to "staycation," according to a new list compiled by WalletHub. San Diego snagged no. 9 out of 182 cities across the U.S. The financial advice website used several metrics to determine how cities ranked, including the number of parks, swimming pools, ice cream shops, museums, coffee shops, beer gardens, zoos, aquariums, tennis courts, public golf courses and spas per capita in each city. It also took into account local restaraunt meal costs and entertainment. In sunny San Diego, locals have a plethora of sandy beaches with rolling surf right at their fingertips. The figures were based off 46 metrics, which observed parks per capita, restaurant meal costs and more.
