We are currently accepting applications for Construction Laborers. JOB PURPOSE Heavy Civil, Commercial Site Development, Utilities and Residential Construction Basic Job Description: Perform tasks involving physical labor at various construction job sites, utility work, heavy construction projects, and demolition sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types; earth tampers, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, bolt up clean up rubble and debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers and Heavy Equipment Operators. Work will be performed per the supervisor's or foreman's instruction; some work may be performed without direct supervision. Applicants should be self-motivated, dependable and eager to learn the construction trades and services our company provides its clients. Work Requirements • Must be 18 years in age or older. • Must pass drug screen and background check.. • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations. Knowledge/Skill Requirements • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail. • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. • Ability to learn to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential work requirement satisfactorily. Education/Experience • Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Basic math skills and an understanding of construction math a plus. Construction experience a plus. Ability to run Skidsteer, Mini X a plus. EXPECTED WORKING HOURS Work hours will normally be Mon-Fri from 7am through 5pm. Hours may vary depending on time of year (daylight savings), weather conditions, and contract obligations and may include beginning prior to 7am, working past 5pm and weekends. WORK REPORTING LOCATION (S) Foreman and/or Supervisor will inform employees of the work reporting location; this location will vary depending on the contract work to be performed; employees are expected to have reliable transportation to and from the work reporting location. TRAVEL Projects are primarily located within the Front Range Corridor of Colorado. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus.
