Hello musical humans, Phillip Glasshalfull plays jammy, jazz-informed, trippy dance music... Mostly. We feel like the world needs at least some musicians who live to “freak out the squares”. We need someone who wants to create original sonic art and experiences. We love to dance and we love to create the conditions for happy dancing audiences, but we are also looking for musicians that appreciate contrasting musical genres, can strip things down, and get weird. We love to improvise and we never play the same set twice. We need a digital audio wizard who can play nicely with continuous audio wizards. We need samples, pads, beats, harmonies, melodies, and far-out tones that only digital audio can provide. We’re on the hunt for a person who can bring this perspective on stage with acoustic drummers, bass players and other musicians. We think that this person might sit behind a keyboard, a computer, or a digital drum kit. Maybe one, or all of the above. We will certainly be switching instruments. We say “jazz informed” but we are not necessarily talking about academic jazz. Some of the best ears come from unexpected places. We all should be in this for personal growth and discovery, and our collective goal is to create a great experience for the audience, not to achieve some kind of objective musical truth.
