Shooting At Cleveland Heights Park: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — One person was killed and another hurt during a shooting at Denison Park on Tuesday evening, police announced. Gunfire broke out at approximately 6 p.m. at the basketball court at the park, according to Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg. Two people were shot and one was killed. At least two suspects were seen running from the park, Mecklenburg said. Cleveland Heights police are currently "following up on leads and actively interviewing witnesses" to the shooting, she added. Investigators believe the shooters and the victims knew each other prior to the shooting. Police are currently investigating the shooting and additional information will be released in coming days, Mecklenburg said.
