Position Title: Signature Gatherer Location: South Bay, Los Angeles, CA Reports to: Campaign Manager Compensation: $20/hour Duration: temporary, late June 2021 through at least August 2021. Potential for extension based on performance. Summary Catalyst Cannabis Co. is hiring part-time signature gatherers who will be part of a field team for a signature gathering campaign. We are seeking motivated applicants who will be working in the South Bay area. The signature gatherer will go into public spaces and door-to-door to have direct contact with a broad base of voters to educate them about a petition to sign. Signature gatherers will report to the campaign manager to meet goals and must be able to receive constructive feedback and have excellent relationship building skills, be able to walk or stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation to accommodate moving to different locations. Gas reimbursement for travel will be provided. Responsibilities ● Approach and engage with registered voters in public spaces ● Educate voters on the petition you are circulating ● Collect signatures in order to qualify the issue for the ballot ● Walk and stand for long periods of time in public areas ● Walk door-to-door in surrounding neighborhoods ● Ensure accurate collection and entry of voters’ information on the petition ● Communicate effectively to receive feedback and adapt accordingly ● Travel to different high foot-traffic sites and neighborhoods ● Hit goals for voter contact and other program elements ● Be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed Qualifications ● Strong interpersonal communication skills ● Enthusiastic, positive attitude ● Ability to communicate effectively in order to meet goals ● Comfortable speaking in public, walking and standing for long periods of time ● Ability to be flexible in a nimble environment ● Must be able to work independently and as part of a team ● Willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends ● Adaptable to changing needs and program priorities ● Have a CA driver’s license and access to reliable transportation ● Have access to a smartphone ● Bilingual (Spanish) preferred ● Experience in public speaking or customer service is a plus ● Previous campaign or signature gathering experience a plus COVID-19 Precautions ● Must wear a mask at all times ● Social distancing guidelines in place ● Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place How to Apply Send resume to [email protected] with the subject line “Signature Gatherer.” Positions will be open until filled.
