6th Street Studios and Art Center is holding a Call for Art for our group show this summer, "Rising as a Community." July has traditionally been a joyous month for us Bay Area natives, especially Gilroyans, celebrating our “spice of life.”. Our small town comes to fragrant life as thousands of people come together to celebrate the all-mighty garlic, and its versatility in cuisine from all over the world. These last couple festivals, and lack thereof have been unprecedented due to tragedy, and the pandemic. The strength of our community will be the focus of our theme for this exhibition; showcasing artwork that speaks about relilency and coming together as a community to overcome these challenges while supporting one another despite social distancing and shelter-in-place measures. All mediums are welcome & all artistic skill levels encouraged to submit. As a nonprofit Art Center we want to bring artists of all skill levels together to learn and grow from one another. All artists are welcome to submit who reside within 100 miles of Gilroy.
