38-year-old female guitarist looking to have a little fun and make some noise. I've always played in original bands, but I'm thinking covers or maybe a mix of both. I like all kinds of music, but the dream has always been either a Go-Go's/Bangles/The Donnas type band or something more riot grrrl like Bikini Kill, L7, and Bratmobile. I'm open to all kinds of options, though. My interest lies primarily in joining up with or starting an all-girl band. No offense guys. I've been in mixed bands before, this is just something I want to try/do. It's not off the table or anything, but I'd really love that all-girl band I've wanted since I was 12. I've always been the sole guitarist in my previous groups, so I'm comfortable as both a lead or rhythm guitarist, but depending on the band I'd love to pair up with another skilled guitarist. I really just miss playing in a group and want to have some fun with some like-minded people. A little bit about me: • Self-taught guitarist playing for more than 25 years. I set down my guitar for a while. I'm just picking it up again and there's some rust (ok, lots of rust). • Have pro-level gear (Gibson, Fender, Marshall, and Orange with a minimalist pedal board) • I've been in a few original bands with about 10 combined years experience in groups. I've played more than 100 gigs all over New England. • I have MP3s I can share. • I cannot sing. Don't ask me to. You will regret it (even though I love to sing and will sing along far away from microphones). • I work full-time (still mostly from home) and have no interest in being famous or gigging every weekend. Music is fun; playing in a band is fun. I want to keep it that way. • No access to a practice space (although I still have decent connections with some venues and other bands). • Hella gay. No kids or wife. Minimal drama. Pretty flexible with availability outside of the whole working for money to pay bills thing. • 420 friendly (I don't really smoke but don't mind if others do), non-smoker, social drinker. Not a partier. I sorta have my shit together. • 100% vaccinated.
